Lethal Gas Chambers of India: Research Report on Pollution in Delhi

This research report reveals the worsening environmental situation in India’s capital New Delhi because of increasing air pollution. Of late, the hazardous effects of pollution have exacerbated as the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, has unleashed a brutal scheme under the FAR (floor area ratio) construction policy.

The new scheme allows inhabited group housing complexes of Delhi to extend their existing buildings by allowing individual flat owners to construct more rooms, balconies, etc. while ignoring the health and safety concerns of others who prefer to live in a clean, peaceful environment. read more

As you know, today corruption and illegal activities have gone rampant in Delhi’s cooperative group housing societies and it appears that no government exists in the city-state to control the rising tide of lawlessness in these societies.

Almost all the managing committees (MCs) of housing societies are under the control of corrupt MC members who mostly operate as money-collecting gangs. They are supported by deep-pocketed builders and corrupt bureaucrats and politicians.

As millions of common residents are victims of the terror unleashed by the MC members of different societies, I have started an exclusive editorial section under the banner “Clean House” to help the suffering residents raise their voice against the growing injustice. read more

RMN Foundation has prepared this new research report after almost 3 years of extensive research which includes door-to-door surveys, interactions with hundreds of Delhi school students, parents, and teachers, and a number of other educational outreach programs.

The report highlights numerous pitfalls in the current state of school education including irrelevant syllabuses, poor content quality of books, defective pedagogical methods, incompetence of teachers, disturbing teacher-student ratios, and overall lack of administration in Delhi schools. read more
